The Olney Farmers and Artists Market wants to thank all of you for your continued support.  While our regular season is over, we’re not finished yet.  We invite you all to a special one-day Holiday Market December 5 from 11am to 3pm.   There will be something special for everyone, and the event is free.   So bring your families, wear something warm and come on out to our site in front of the Montgomery General Hospital Thrift shop Sunday, Dec. 5.  We’ll have more details in the coming weeks.

It’ll be one-stop shopping for amazing hand-made gifts and fresh produce.

Salt & Pepper will perform a winter cooking demo at 1:00 p.m. They'll be introducing their new cookbook!

Our food vendors will be preparing traditional holiday specialties from their native countries--Bangladesh, Mexico, Vietnam and Israel. The specialty Bangladeshi foods will include chicken rezella, pulao rice, vegi cutlet, kabab, salad and "Bengali Pitha". From Israel, we’ll have Falafel, potato latkes and Hanukkah donuts. And from Mexico, we’ll have Stollen, Panetone, mini Noel Logs and the Christmas flower in a 3-D edible Gelatin, called Noche Buena in Spanish. We’ll also have wine tastings, featuring the finest in Maryland wine.

Santa will be making a visit; we’ll have live holiday music and caroling. We’ll even have a farm animal parade.

We’ll keep you warm, if the temperature dips.

Also, we’re asking the community to help the boys at Our House and Aunt Hattie's on Dec. 5^th.   Many of them need just the basics, including t-shirts and gloves.  We’ll have 2 boxes at the Information Desk for donations.  Basic needs are for all kinds of clothing--underwear, shirts, polo shirts, socks, pants and jackets.
Other items of interest to young men include Ipods, cameras, dvd players.

Be fit Be Well will be keeping everyone warm by moving and saluting the Sun!

Join in for any part of 108 Sun Salutations to build heat and burn off Holiday pounds!
Lead by Alicia Cuervo owner of Yin Yang Yoga

Surya Namaskar, the Sun Salutation, is a series of 12 postures performed in a single, graceful flow. Each movement is coordinated with the breath. Inhale as you extend or stretch, and exhale as you fold or contract. The Sun Salutation builds strength and increases flexibility.

Can You Help?

For our Winter Market Day we'd like to borrow a fire pit and as many patio heaters as possible. These will be returned clean and fully charged, with our thanks!
